What thinkest thou?  :D

I'm thinking a dead version of each knight and horse would come in handy too  lol

A great collection.  :-*

Having mounted and dismounted miniatures of the same figure is so COOL!!

A little retinue each would look great, but agree three is NOT enough.

Each knight could also have someone in his retinue that differentiates him eg a herald, hound keeper, falconer etc

Great collection. :-* :-*
A retinue for some knights could become handy for some games.
I think 3 or 4 spearman, 1 or 2 archers or crossbowmen would be nice. At least for 2 diferent forces.
You can also use some of the foot knights as allies of a main noble instead of doing retinues for all.

Lovely heraldry, Richard. You have the lightest of touches. 'The Bloody Barons', is that a band out of history and educated chap should be aware of?

Thanks all - great suggestions there, Frank and Rui. I may well follow up on those...

Peder - I think 'Bloody Barons' was just a phrase used to describe a particular period of English medieval history, when the barons were in a constant state of armed rivalry with each other and with the Crown...

Some of them were always having a pop at one another or the king for pretty much the entire Late Medieval period!  :)

Well, as a little side project, I AM going to build a small personal retinue for each of my knights.

I have eight mounted knights, and now have dismounted versions of the same.

I'm going to give each knight a man-at-arms of some sort, an archer or crossbowman, plus a Baldric-style follower or attendant of some kind.

First up, the men of Sir Renaud De Brassey... Aylward the archer, Crispin the spearman, and Baker Bob the peasant churl...

Mainly composed from assorted Fireforge and Perry parts and a bit of Green Stuff. Bob has Frostgrave arms.

Ah, but is Bob really a Bob?

(Cue Blackadder references)

Nice work Richard.  :-* Don't forget that you'll also need a tent for each retinue, an audience, and a backdrop of castle walls.  :D

Lovely already - even without paint.

Crispin is my favorite. What a stalwart looking chap.

Nice, is the spearman a Fireforge body & head with the new Perry french spear-arms? They match up really well....
