28mm Evil Toys
« on: July 30, 2012, 09:22:53 PM »
The topic says it all, I am looking for toy figures to fit the 28mm or 25mm range as henchmen groups for a villain I am going to cook up, pretty much think a Demonic Version of Toyman from DC....mix the Puppetmaster with Toyman and you have some scary toys...

So far I found the evil toys from Reaper. A bear, pony, monkey with clackers, etc..

I was thinking a cheap box of plastic army men in 15mm or 20mm and paint green like army men.

I know there is a few Jack in the box Minis but I cannot find them!

Graven Images has some Toys in their "Dystopia" line, but they are normale for 40 mm minis, so don't realy know how they size up, but if I remember correctly ther was a thread about that here on the LAF.
Taban is releasing "Bunny-Bombs" for the Eden game, specifically the Joker gang.
And I use for my own "Evil Puppeteer" the Relic Bretonians, which are really nice minis.

I think the Jack in the Box mini you might want is the one from Gothica Miniatures:

They're not "evil" per se, but Eureka has a Toytown line that may be of some help;

For army men I would use 6mm WW2 like these:

Found at ghqmodels.com

You might even be able to inlcude a couple of toy tanks and airplanes from the same manufacture. Make sure to look at the "samples pack" which includes a tank, another vehicle, and some infantry for under $8 US.

Reaper also has several familiar packs available that could work if painted as evil stuffed animals.

The Reaper Jack-in-the-box mini you want is part of the "evil toys" package Styx.  You can find it here: http://www.reapermini.com/Miniatures/evil%20toy/latest/02887

It isn't shown in the initial picture, but if you scroll down slightly you'll find it listed under the "boneyard" links further down the page ($2.11).

Here's a picture of it painted:

I was always a fan of the Champions Universe Joker homage,  Black Harlequin, myself...

And my miniature for him (rushed paint job - need to go back and remake this figure at some point)

I found plastic toy lines like Pokemon and Digimon have things to use or convert.
also Horrorclix, demon bunny and lawn gnome

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.
