the Little Spider
« on: July 31, 2012, 05:49:39 PM »
I wanted some time off from painitng large units of Italian Wars so I took a break last weekend to scratch build a contraption for my already large collection of GASLIGHT vehicles. Behold the Petite Arachnee (my french is terrible).

So named after its big brother the Spider that has stalked my VSF battlefields for years, and scared the bagjeezus out of Prussians. I would just like to thank makers Disney's Atlantis and Wild Wild West for making complete flops and letting me gobble up their toy vehicles for tremendous discounts years ago. I have been scratch building vehicles from them ever since.

Great looking "spider."  Seems to have enough fire power!  :)

Thanks for the praise. As this a French contraption, please note the tricolor missiles.

A nice piece of kit. The tricoleur missiles do add a bit of Gallic flair.  :)

"whereas the French, more properly, used the same colors in the order blue, white and red."

So, aside from the missle/fins, what came from Lost Atlantis? The turret? Is that from the bridgelayer? The hull as well?

Sorry, been awhile since I dug my LA stuff out.

Depends on which way you look at the missile, sir. Legs are WWW. Tank-y part from GZG (if they still make them) and fins/missiles Atlantis. But my atalntis stuff has gone a long way:

I thought that was either GZG or Armorcast in the body. Otherwise, knew exactly what was what, not to suggest is isn't all cracking good!

Yes, those toys, Lost Atlantis and WWW, find SO many uses, don't they?
