Modern Warfare side project in 20mm
« on: August 07, 2012, 09:55:08 AM »
I ordered a couple of 20mm Elhiem Iraqi and US miniatures for our Brink of Battle games (and hopefully to play "the Battlefield" once I have enough squads).

I have a handful of Iraqi regular army left to paint up before I start painting my US forces. Being busy with writing on my FoW campaign book these miniatures offer fast small painting breaks that result in finished miniatures.

Some more Iraqi army soldiers painted up. My matt varnish problems have resurfaced and the 3 brands that I had at home, Vallejo, Coat d'arms and Tamiya all made the shiny surface worse. Really gave me a headache. Will order and try out the army painter brush on varnish which I have heard is supposed to be good. This is getting ridiculous.

Comparison picture of 15-20-28mm miniatures for those unfamiliar with the scale.

Nice work

I love 20mm for modern and ww2 gaming.
Elhiem figs are top notch.

Thanks

Nice work and thanks for the comparison shot... it's often very difficult to picture the scales side by side if you don't have the figures yourself. I'd mentally pictured the gap between 15mm and 20mm figures as being less than is obvious by the comparison.

Thanks guys,

Painted up the last Iraqi army miniatures, now I'm just waiting for the matt varnish and anti shine that I ordered from Warlord Games so I can get rid of that glossy finish from hell. Really like the dynamic poses of these sculpts.

Have a couple of US army and some Rangers to paint up as well when I catch up with my other painting projects.

Looking gorgeous mate.
I've got a tonne of these guys sitting un-loved in a pile next to a lone section... Really should show them some love.
