As it happens the author Mark Backhouse was seriously considering revising the Colonial SAGA idea specifically for the Maoris. I'll have chance to chat with him to see if he's been able to do any more when he's back off holiday.

When can we expect issue 62 on the shelves Guy?
Traipsing into Smiths and coming out empty handed makes me sad.  :(
Waiter, my soup is giggling.

The store release schedule is about as follows
  • WSS appears in WH Smith (and independent retailers in the UK) on or just after the first of every odd month
  • it appears in German magazine stores at bigger train stations / airports around the 20th of every odd month
  • it appears in selected game/magazine stores throughout Europe around that time as well
  • it appears in North America (Chapters, Barnes & Noble, etc) around the beginning of every odd month, and about the same time in Australia, New Zealand etc.

We're only at the beginning of the freight train, so I can't always predict the exact date is appears in stores, but the above is about right.  :)

So we can expect the next issue in UK newsagents around the start of September, then?
Back from the dead, almost.

Bingo! Full of 'Spy-fi' goodness that will (hopefully!) go over well with the denizens of this forum.  :D

Well, that explains it. Never realised it had switched to every two months.
Oh well, good excuse to buy a digital back issue or two.

Yes, it has. We're simply not geared up for a monthly schedule and we're not willing to compromise quality to do so. And there's the digital thing. We're in the (initial) stages of considering an alternating digital issue (in the broadest sense of the word) and a paper one.

I have played Colonial Saga in 28mm on 50mm square bases.

It really caught the spirit of colonial actions.

We were doing the Nyassaland conflicts with Lugard in chanrge of the British.

One thing I would suggest to Mark Backhouse is that bases shooting all round looks OK for single figures, but a bit silly for a unit of six big bases. I would suggest that each base is only allowed to shoot to a 45 degree forward arc.

My opponent (Cillian) got very confused as to whether there were two classes of Warriors or not. As I read it there were fighty warriors and shooty warriors, the latter using the worst combat rating.

Anyway, the message is that it works really well.

WSS 61 should still be in stores for another week or so. If it's not sold out and you're quick...

I've not yet tried SAGA Colonials but intend to.

The Peninsular War edition seems to be stuck on the shelves in Derby. Shooo/mooove

Peninsular Edition? Are you sure you're thinking of Wargames, Soldiers and Strategy?

"Needs a proper name..."  It's called "Lead Poisoning" - the benign variation.  o_o

WSS sold out in Scarborough at least a week ago.

Although there are a few copies of the Peninsular WI
Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)
