so we got the ball arolling.

We used the Skulldred beta rules and had a party of 4 adventurers (all elite... should've been legendary but we forgot) and we discussed whether they should have had personal Skulldred counters or how it would work. We settled on a shared pool of counters that carry over from episode to episode. And they'd be able to get more if they were really clever in an episode and so on.

Without further ado:

Great!

Even though the game turned into a massive static bravl in the middle of the village the game had many great moments. The Orc shooting Marak and Mastix at point blank range. Elena & Gorm who took a long time to wake up and had to be saved by dreadskulls the first three rounds of combat. And mastix standing in the middle of the village with his poisoned whip lashing everyone in range.

Can't wait for next game. Thursday?

My spamming of the fantasy forum continues!

I had this weird GW maptile set lying around and I decided to put it to some use.  Dr. Zombie and I briefly discussed whether it was too new to be proper, but we decided that since I'd painted the bloody thing we might as well use it.

Basicly I hope the campaign will take us from one end of the map to the other through various locations that I have already made stuff for now and then.

Initially we will focus only on this part. At least for the first three episodes.

The skull pile signifies starting positions. The village of Grimsby would be somewhere underneath the pile.

Other locations are:

1) The City of Brass (originally the Emperor wanted it to be the city of Iron, but since half the city was based on or near water it proved to be a bad idea). The place through which everything flows. Ships come in and unload magical items, shiny weapons, nefarious do-no-gooders and new player characters.

2) Orc Sultan Shaimoon Kowl's turf. Shaimoon has been controlling the Desert of Certain Doom for year's since he took over the business from his great grandfather Mhaikal Gaijshun. Shaimoon exacts a heavy toll on all who pass through the desert and every drop of water in it is tightly controlled by his minions. You can't go through without dealing with them one way or another and they're more than likely to come out on top no matter which you choose.

3) The Bendy River. Well for starters it bends. And it's quite fast in places. Only a few bridges exist and they're all controlled by the Tolling Trolls who live underneath them. It's not that expensive to get over, though, as long as you've brought a flask Khimerean Snake Whiskey. They're absolutely addicted to the stuff.

I've had some funny remarks about whether these stories are actual games or just setups of miniatures.

Obviously the prelude isn't an actual game, but part 1 is!

Hope that clears it all up..

That is a FANTASTIC & enjoyably strange way to present a battle report...as a basically strange, old man, I, of course, LOVE it. I hope this turns into an  Epic Tale...I need an ongoing reason to get up in the morning.

Thanks man! Next installment will come next Friday (24th)... I'm preoccupied with unfunny reallife business these days I'm afraid.

I love it!

I'm not sure if beer was involved in the production of this comic; but I get the feeling it should have! Seriously Mr Dr. Mad-Mental Viking, I love the flavour your stuff has; it's almost a mix of Douglas Adams and Pratchett.

My spamming of the fantasy forum continues!

I love the work you've put into the realm, and the excellent notes on the map, but I'm afraid I'm not a fan of the terrain tiles (The concept! not the excellent painting/execution).

Cheers mate, hope all is well

Andy

EPIC ADVENTURE...more or less! The style of presentation overcame my naturally lazy tendency to merely look at all the pretty pictures. GREAT STUFF!
