1/100 Airfix Planes in Modelzone
« on: August 16, 2012, 01:03:47 PM »
Had the delight (!) of Merry Hill Shopping Centre near Dudley yesterday. As seems inevitable nowadays - GW had no supply of black wash (Nuln Oil) however I fell upon a bargain which may be of interest.
Modelzone had fairly decent supplies of 2 Airfix kits - Focke Wulf and Grumann Wildcat. These are 15mm scale, prepainted, come complete with transfers already applied and a tube of glue. Also comes with a really nice plastic display stand (not a flight stand) which will be painted for use with Chaos in Cairo. There are about 20 parts. It took about half an hour to complete most of which was cutting from the sprues and trimming off the resulting lugs. May need a tiny bit of paint touch up where the trimming has scratched the paint. Otherwise a quick wash and done. Only problem is that the wheels are designed to be fixed in the down position for display and do not fit in the wells but as this is underneath, it won't be seen anyway.
Retail price is £5.99 - on offer for 99p!!
Could probably get some more and post if you don't have a Modelzone (no idea how many there are across the country).
Cheers

John
