Old Crow, Ainsty and Fenris vehicles
« on: August 14, 2012, 06:49:09 PM »
I've stripped these Old Crow models so many times I had to leave them outside for a week to get the smell of Dettol out of them ;D Super-simple paint jobs, but I'm more or less happy with them now.

I love what you've done with the Ainsty crawlers.

Very nice collection you've got there! Painted to a great standard.

I am not a big fan of all the sculpts, but the paintjobs make them all stand out nicely :)

I can appreciate golden demon level paintjobs on vehicles etc...but often I am turned off by the overly realistic, super-detailed vehicles.  Simple paint schemes on simple vehicles for gaming make me happy.  Same reason I like simple bases on my models - reminds me of the excitement of admiring Britain's miniatures through glass at the local hobby shop.  :D  Nicely done!

Inspired use of our APEX team with the Marauder, I'd never connected the dots between them before and am very pleased to see how well they work together  8) Makes me want to move the vehicle remodel up the to-do list....

Neat, which is which?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.

Thanks folks.  I'm not sure the dark mud stippling on the Old Crow models is great, but I can go back and lighten it another time.  My blending on the Ainsty windows could be a LOT smoother too, I've just never tried it on such a large area.

Elbows - you got it!

Gray Ghost - top four are Old Crow, next two are Ainsty, final one is Fenris.

geronimo - they all fall into the category of "miniatures that you just love to paint".  I'd love to see more Marauders - someone on one of the Prometheus threads here suggested it, and the command version I bought does make a great civilian vehicle for a near-future exploration team.

Hmm, I can see a xenomorph-filled future for the Apex team  ;)
