I like it!

But in my view you could use exclusively 11th century miniatures for Middleearth

Thanks!

He looks great, and would probably be a good match for standard Gondorian Infantry.  But...I thought I remembered from the book that Gondorian soldiers all wore the famous winged helms. Maybe that was just honor guard or something. Anyway fantastic PJ and great freehanding on the shield.
I've always pictured Gondororians more like Byzantines rather than Norman (with some modest fantasy additions like gull wing helmets) but this one looks GOOD. Much better than the Weta effort.

Iīll try that kind of conversion too. Thanks.

I have painted another Conquest Game Norman as Gondorian but this time without golden details.

I like them. Wasn't all that taken with the Conquest Norman cavalry figures, but these foot figures don't look bad at all. Or maybe it's just your great painting  :)

I am very wary of einarolafson's painting skill.
I have quite a few of the minis he has painted, and found quite of few of them bloody awful, although he has made them look so much better.
Be warned, he can make a really poor sculpt/casting look superb!

lol lol the only think I can say is they look good to me, I would have preffered another way to attach the arms to the body but still I preffer to spend 20GBP in 44 Noman that 16GBP in 12 GW Gondorian. Of course they have the lack of LotR deatils on them because they are Norman.

I was collecting an GW Easterling army and a Gondor one too. I stoped for a while but when I started to buy again I found that they changed metal for "that resin" and the size of the new miniatures is again different, they are bigger; and then they are selling the half on the miniatures they used to sell in boxes. So I gave up because I canīt afford that, I love GW LotR range but I canīt spend that amount anymore.

So I have found these miniatures perfect because they are (more or less) how I imagine Gondorian.

Cheers.

They look great, and remind me of the John Howe illustrations on the book covers.

Isn't it great that GW used true 25mm for LoTR? Now we can use Wargames Factory orcs, and Gripping Beast and Conquest historical minis which may not look like the film, but who cares?

I think there could be more mileage in this for myself than I first thought  :)

I've already got loads of GW Rohan troops and now there is a cheap Gondor option that I like.

Excellent Work. I am absolutely astounded when people paint designs on their shields free-handed. Simply FANTASTIC!!

I also agree that they would work best as Gondorians and not so much as Rohirrim.

Thanks for sharing.

Isn't it great that GW used true 25mm for LoTR?

Some were, and some weren't. All the earlier plastics, up to the WoMT at least were 25mm, but very few of the metals were. The metal Men of Numenor are also a bit on the small side, but some like the old metal rangers were huge compared to the plastics. I find that the median of the range is 28mm historical, Perrys mix quite nicely with it as to GB (the heads seem abit big, but I think that's the beards) and Warlord. I find Conquest to seem a bit big, but I've not seen the infantry in person yet. Fireforge are good as well, except for some of the weapons.
