Having looked at Driscoles Old Glory pathans in the flesh, I have to say they are not too bad at all. (And I speak as one who wouldn't even insult the fish by using OG figures as lead weights as a rule...) But some of the OG pathans, quite passable  ::)

Would the OG Pathans do for 1920s/30s Pathans, especially if one were (ahem!) coming at things from the pulpish end of the spectrum and not too concerned for exact historical perfection?

The OG pathans are good, but many of them carry jezails rather than more modern rifles.  For the '30s if you want to be strictly historical, most Pathans would have had magazine rifles.  The Pathans manufactured pretty good copies, as I found when I visited Landi Khotal in 1976 and checked out 'Mohammed Kasim's Hashish and Firearm shop' (not kidding, I still have his card somewhere).

But for Pulp, More Jezails is BETTER and more flavorful.  I'd say they would be perfect for Pulpy scenarios.

There's one OG Pathan pack listed as "Pathans with rifles" (vice "Pathans with jezails" in another pack) so that plus the command pack will give me more Pathans than I'll likely ever need. (with enough rifles, hopefully, to be plausible for interwar)

More things to pencil into my list!

I have purchased, and plan on using, these for a similar purpose:

Morrocan Regulares from Empress' SCW range. Does that help?

Would they benefit from head re-alignment? Serious question not joking as I'm thinking of buying the pack with the Jezzails.

I wouldn't say the head alignments is the problem. They suffer from being a tad cartoonish, or what do you say, Richard?

I thought they looked pretty good for OG figures, and didn't look too closely after that. But head realignment is always an option  :D

I have praised the OG Pathans in the past, and I will do so again.  Take a look at James Manto's blog for some nicely painted examples:
