Vikings for Saga
« on: August 26, 2012, 05:19:39 PM »
Hi I Have got a few pictures of some of my Viking stuff I seem to of accrued in the last couple of months.

I bought quite a few of these (pretty much all the artizan stuff) off Atheling on the forum here, mighty nice figures, and said I would post them up once I had painted them and finally got some half decent shots. So here we are.

Citadel Jarl figure for my warlord -

Artizan Hearthguards -

Artizan warriors, 2 different squads -

Finally for now, some Gripping Beast beserkers - These have a cool backstory, as just after Salute this year I offered my salute miniature out to whomever wanted it. In return the recipiant had the option to send me something in return if they so wished, though were under no obligation to do so. A great guy in America called Sven got it, and very graciously sent me these in return. Very cool.

Bases have not been finished off further yet as I am considering whether to get some dull cote or not on the varnish. I probally won't as they are primarily gaming pieces, but.....

Cheers, John.

I will tack this on the end, a not so glorious picture of some other bits - The levy bowmen, and crusader beserkers and hearthguard.

A very nice warband there, and a great little story on the berserks. I would like to see them all again with the bases finished though.

Thanks. Heres an old WIP shot of some of my baggage for saga, this does show what the bases will be like eventually once they are shaded and dressed -

And heres a shot of my final viking unit, the last lot of levy. Just finished them, (bar the bases) -

Something I noticed the other day, the Renedra bases I am using fit beautifully into the War of the Rings movement trays. Handy if I pick up some big battles rules in the future -

Thank you both for your nice comments.

May I ask where the blacksmith is from?

This is the "free" figure from wayland games I got at salute this year.

Very nice work indeed!  8) 8) 8)

You have been quite buisy mate.

I haven't had time to really read the text as I'm extremely buisy until Late Monday but I'll return and take another peek later on next week.

All the best mate with this project- you have done a very good job on some nice miniatures.

Darrell.
