I was lucky enough to see it live! :D Lovely mate!! :-* :-* I never quite realised quite how big it was! It's a real triumph!! Sorry we never spoke Akula, everytime I came to your table you were in deep discussion explain the rules to your players!

Ps the bananas replacing Lincolns head was a nice touch!

I have to echo Andym's comments as I did not realise just how big it was until I saw it.
Simply stunning!

Not sure that was Akky's doing.
I understand that a fella with a lovely moustache was seen leaving the area chuckling to himself behind his hand.

Andy - Sorry we didn't get a chance to have a chat - I did get the opportunity to drool at your London board, and the photos simply don't do it justice.

...and yes, the bananas were left by a certain 6mmPhil - the first I knew about them was when one of the players asked me if there were any special rules for them....

I must admit secreting a dozen large bunches of bananas (28mm) around the board before the doors opened, one of which was so cunningly hidden it was there all day. The others were discovered around 11pm after a child asked what the rules were for bananas. "There aren't any bananas" said a confident Akula, "Yes there is." said the child "There's bananas there, there, there, there, there, there, and there.". That was about 2 hours after McFonz had said "Wow bananas!" and everyone blanked him...  lol

I felt it was my duty to do something to protect the remnants of humanity against those goddamn dirty apes. I'd like to think that anyone of us might do the same.

It was a cracking board, I'd only really seen the Washington monument before, and that was enormous. Combined it was special, and I'll have some photos up once I have the time.

No in my time with the SAS, MI6, CIA and Mossad I learnt never to document anything you do when deep covert, so you'll just have to keep your eyes peeled. So in Andy M's top photo above at the bottom left there's a burnt out bus, inside to the right of the rear door is one of them.

Here's my pictures...

Finally had a chance to get the photos i took at Salute uploaded - thought it would make more sense to put them here to keep the thread complete.

Setup on the Friday - probably the best shot to give an idea of the scale - the Washington Monument (or what is left of it) is 4 feet tall, and the raised sections with the subway in are another 6" so it gave the table a bit of height.

The train tunnel was just a bit of shameless window dressing on my part.

Initial setup, including a view of the Lincoln Memorial....was delighted to be told that i'd done a great job on the Parthenon...made the ten months of work worthwhile.

The starting point for the astronauts...If this is the best they've got around here, in six months we'll be running this planet.
