Starting My Dux Britanarium Campaign - Romano-British Added
« on: September 13, 2012, 04:21:29 AM »
Well I just finished painting the miniatures for my Dux Campaign.  I started to look into where to base the campaign out of and decided that it would be in the north.  I started doing just a little digging and think this would be an ideal spot for a campaign as there does not seem to be an end to possible opponents.  If you are interested in the background, feel free to read it here: http://cstoesen.blogspot.com/2012/09/dux-britanium-campaign-background.html.

But the main thing is, I actually finished out an army!  I managed to get some pictures taken of the Saxons and post up something about who this force is that will be raiding.

Anyway, here is the Saxon leader with two pagan priests. All are Splintered Light Miniatures.

Next up are the two nobles and the champion.  The tall guy in the middle is the champion.

Next up are the Gedridht or hearthguard troops.

Then the mass of warriors or Geoguth.

And lastly, my lowly skirmishers.

Anyway, the post can be found here.  Please take a look and let me know what you think.

Hi Chris

Looks great.  Did you make the building?

No.  This was one of the ones sold by Splintered Light Miniatures.  They had 2.  One is an A Frame and the other is this one.  Unfortunately he has been out of stock on the buildings for a while.

Thanks.  I have my first post for the Britons ready just need to take some pictures with my phone.  Just got my beautiful deck of Cards from Rich so I have everything I need for the game.  Will need to buy the hard copy of these at some point.  They are too nice to have only a PDF of.

Well I finished my intro for my Romano-British.  If you want to read it, its here.
http://cstoesen.blogspot.com/2012/09/the-campaign-starts-romano-british-story.html

Here are the minis:

The leadership:

The Comanipulares:

The Milites:

And the Peasant Levy:

Actually, these guys are my favorites.  I love junk troops and am trying to figure out how to include them in my games.  They will be replaced with actual levy at some point, but for now...

Then there is the skirmishers:

Thanks for looking.

Nice stuff!  Those are 15mm I assume?

I have been working on an army as well, and I agree that peasants are pretty fun to paint  :D

Yes.  They are 15mm.  The bulk of the troops are Splintered Light but the peasants are Khurasan.  Love the minis.  The rock throwers provide you with some peasant missile units.
