NUTS! for SCW?
« on: September 14, 2012, 09:12:26 AM »
I thought i better start a separate thread as it doesn't look like AWaF is going to offer (me) anything radically different to my DH/SCW games. No criticism meant or implied fellas.

But NUTS! sounds interesting from what i hear. Solo gaming, 2 players v the System, player v player etc.

Is there a SCW variant? I couldn't see anything on the site.

Or could you just play NUTS! as is and adapt to SCW (in much the same way that i intend to for Bolt Action)?

Many thanks

James

Nuts! - like all Two Hour rules, is a small scale skirmish set, you'll struggle with more than a platoon of figures. That being said if they are anything like FNG, they're great fun. I haven't got Nuts! ( :?), but I do have FNG, which shares many of the same rules, so I'm told.

Some people don't like the 'reaction rules', which are the core of the game, as they remove the 'God' aspect from the player and not letting his troops always do what he wants them to do. I think the reaction tests make it the game it is, personally.

There isn't an SCW version, but I don't see that there are any concrete changes you'd need to make to the rules themselves.

You can download the bare bones of the system 'Chain Reaction' for free, so you can try before you buy.
