Help with doctor uniform!!!

Hi all folks!!! Im painted the two wheeled ambulance perry miniatures and i have a problem with the asistant surgeon cos i dont know how to paint his uniform, i paint it for confederates!!! Any help with this uniform? Thanks very much and sorry for the "engish"

Don't know the figure and I'm no authority, but if you can get hold of a copy of "The Horse Soldiers" movie there is an assistant to a surgeon in their that you can use for inspiration.  Of course, he is on the Union side but that doesn't mean you can't interpret for the other side.  Just make him less clean and neat, maybe.

Probably one of the worst sources of uniform information on the ACW!!!

A Confederate surgeon would wear a standard grey uniform, usual rank markings, with only a green sash to identify his Medical Corps position.  Dress uniforms had black collar and cuffs, dark blue trousers with black stripes, but I doubt that they were worn in the field, especially bearing in mind his profession. Might look nice though.

The orderlies probably had black sergeant's stripes and a black stripe down the trouser legs.

How possibly could anyone not think of Hollywood as the absolute best source for uniform information!?  Seriously!  Is not the first place we turn to for inspiration?!   

Curious, though, that the first picture above, of the models, shows someone (in the white coat) that looks just like the man in the movie.
