New 1:56 Morris CWT ready to roll!
« on: March 03, 2008, 09:16:04 PM »
Finally, the Morris trucks are just about ready to release.  I was unhappy with the way the metals originally turned out...so we hired mike Broadbent to sculpt some wheels and metal bits to go along with the resin body.

Hopefully, it's too everyone's liking!  The truck will include a driver with head torso options for long pants/shorts and Aussie/British driver.

Hi Brent, I saw these models last Thursday at Mike's place and they are so sweet the models. Mike did a great job on the extras for you. 8)

Hows the Model T Ford ambulance coming along?

I need an American driver so I can use the model when I'm gaming in June the 90th anniversary of the Battle for "Belleau Wood" with Mike Broadbent.

God Bless

Helen
Best wishes,
Helen

Ooh! My dad used to have a Morris Commerical 15cwt. A C4, I think. A mid-war job, so it didn't have those cool twin aero screens. I always thought they were funny, having racing car accoutrements on something like that.

Nice to see more softskins coming out. Shermans and Tigers are nice enough, but it's softskins like this that really have a hold on my heart.

What I really love: Katy the K2. We used to have one of those, as well. It came from Sweden, and was in the film "The Heroes of Telemark." You wouldn't know though, as they used the interior in some shots that were supposed to be inside a different, German vehicle.

Of course, who could forget the K2 in the fabulous 'Ice Cold in Alex'? Now, why isn't that out on DVD?

Love the Morris, too.  Keep 'em coming!

Cheers,
Mike

That's the most amazing Katy ever, as she was four-wheel-drive!!!

Tuh! Those crazy film makers, eh?

Yeah, love that film. A classic for sure.

Yep, here in Blighty, too. Only a fiver, as well.

Seems not to be available in Region 1, though. Amazon.com only lists a PAL Region 2 British import.

Thanks,

It's been a little of a struggle to get this one out.  As such, now that it's had the "Broadbent" treatment, it's one of our better models. (to see another brilliant model/metals combo, see our M-18  Hellcat)

Mike does not know it yet, but he'll also be sculpting the tracks and guns for our Austin Putilov Kégresse halftrack.  Maybe Helen can gently break the news to him

This is the standard early military version CWT 15 for the desert, but we went ahead and made two windscreen options, for early and late.  We will have a full canvas back though for the truck versions.

You want me to do what! 8)

I'm sure Mike will be delighted :)
