Wooden Stockade/Fort for French Indian Wars - Work in Progress
« on: September 18, 2012, 08:47:17 PM »
Hi Folks

Following on from the Log Cabins post which prompted all sorts of debate around ‘thatched cabins’ in 18th Century America I decided I might incur the wrath or delight of my fellow Lead Adventurers with a first part write up of the Wooden Stockade I am building for my French Indian Wars campaign.

This is very much work in progress but any thoughts on what else should be included I would  love to hear your comments either here or on the blog – PS I will be building a gatehouse.

I would guess 28mm as he stated in another post the buildings are too large to be used for 20mm but I can be mistaken  ;)

interesting job and very nice blog!  :)
I like your project. I'm doing a wooden fort too, with some pals. I'll share some pics of mine as soon as I have some.

I loved the cabins, but shouldn't the stockade have the supporting beams and framing on the inside as on the outside they can help folks climbing them and as they are the structure of the wall, would allow the locals to dismantle the wall quietly one night....

just a thought  ;)
