If you could have your own range?
« on: September 22, 2012, 06:11:46 PM »
I've recently started on what I hope will be a small range of miniatures (WW2 footballers) I'm on a small budget to make it all happen but I'm determined to make it happen in the long run, and would love to make more varied ranges.

What would you range of figures would you love to have if you had the resources to make it happen?

Here' a list of the ranges I'd love to have-

Modern civilians: Binmen (Like me), security guards for vans, Doormen, Pub regulars, Builders, passengers. Prisoners and Prison  guards.

WW1: soldiers doing everyday tasks for dotting around the trenches.

Gangsters: Bootleggers and speakeasy staff.

Sports: Athletes and cyclists

1/48th scale moderns - Infact, re-releasing the old HLBS range would be a great start!  lol

20mm cold war stuff, tailored to match the FoF CWGH books - so armed german Polizi, Polish regulars C1985, assorted unarmed soldiers and civillains for the period, etc/

28mm Post-War African stuff - More Paul Hicks figures for the Congo to supplement the Mongrel ones, some figures suitable for Biafra & the Mau-Mau conflicts (to use with the scenarios in B'Maso)

Silken Thomas' Rebellion.
That being Tudor English and Hiberno-Normans.
A lot of Irish history leaves me with a bad taste in my mouth.
This is no exception, but I've always loved the story of this particular upstart!

My own range of Old/Weird West so I could make all the great "not" minis that nobody else makes but they should  :-[!
I am looking for the following Deadlands minis:  Shotgun Thug, Lost Soul, Cleaners, Railroad Workers & Feral Dead. If you have any of these minis, or if you are one, please send me a PM.

The problem is not having my own range - I do - www.spacevixensfromamars.com - it's funding expanding it. People tell me what they want to see - but if it doesn't sell you have no funds to reinvest.

Looked at kickstarter and think its a really good idea but having read a few threads on here and looked at few things on kickstarter it seems that some bigger companies use it a lot which I suppose they're entitled to do just not sure that is what the kickstarter thing is all about and people seem to be getting fed up with any thread that as kickstarter in the title.

Civilians in general - all ages and periods.  But I have no serious plans to do anything about it.
Back from the dead, almost.

It is great doing your own range but like Gary say's it takes up a lot of cash.I would love to release all the pieces that I have ready but have to wait on sales from what I have in the range so far.Still loads of things which I would love to see.

I like the idea of more civilian types for games. They would come in handy for all sorts of games including zombie games which always need innicent bystanders to get munched on.

Have also been asked to do a Kickstarter too.Not my sort of thing.Like doing things the hard way I suppose. It is great to get to the show's and let people see the miniatures in person.

A good range of Star Trek,Stargate and Farscape miniatures would be great to see. Then there are all the comic book one's which I would love to see done too.Oh for the rights and the cash to get them done ;).

 No pre-painted either fitterpete ;).

Dammit!
OK seriously then.
1) A range of post Napoleonic/pre Crimean War figures to use for Early,Early VSF/imaginations in 28mm
2)Humanoid type Aliens(lion headed, werewoves, lizard heads etc) like Khurasan(except 28mm) and Blue Moon(except complete ranges) do,in heroic 28mm to match GW figures.Think Infinity but not as fiddly or exspensive.

The first would probably not be very popular but the second,I think anyway, would.
