Lebanon 1982 - Part 2
« on: September 26, 2012, 06:02:17 PM »
My poor Lebanon project have been neglected for too long now (original post right here: http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=28730.0).
But a local gaming convention is coming up in october so I decided to get these guys on a table!

To get back on track I decided to do some cool vehicles first, and these are the ones I settled on;

Israeli 500 MD Defender

Everyone needs a chopper, right? I went for this little beauty because...well, it's really cool!
Not too happy with the windows, I was planning on doing them clear so you could see the interior but forgot and glued together the two outside halves leaving the interior outside... well well...  ;D

PLO T-34/85

Not really famous for their tanks but the PLO still did have some in use in 1982. Pretty much worthless as a gaming piece I suppose as most of these were taken out long before they even saw the IDF coming. But with a little bit of artistic freedom the IDF might meet the PLO equivalent of Michael Wittman!

Or in worst case it will be a very expensive and time consuming objective...

I think you've done a good job on them, unlucky about gluing the MD500 together without its interior though.  :'(

This thread on Military Photos has some excellent pictures from 1982 (and earlier), if you can be bothered to sift through all the current photos... of which there are many though.

Not worthless at all, I should think.
Sure, it couldn't go toe to toe with a Merkava.
But the LAUIs were still using Shermans!   lol

By the way, I actually think that is a nice job on the windows.

Nice work.
Em dezembro de '81
Botou os ingleses na roda
3 a 0 no Liverpool
Ficou marcado na história
E no Rio não tem outro igual
Só o Flamengo é campeão mundial
E agora seu povo
Pede o mundo de novo

It's worth it... a few of the members are Lebanese and involved in the armed forces, in one form or another, so for some shots you get some back-story too.

 :)
