LOTR Gaming Board..Help please..

Im building a game board for my nephews, who play the LOTR game and im making it 2' square is this big enough.. I don't don't play LOTR.! :?

If it's the GW games we are talking about it depends on the scenarios and number of models he wants to paly with. 4'X3' looks to be more realistc to me. Maybe even two parts each 4'X2'.

The display/Demo tables were all 4x4 for the original game and the scenarios are mainly designed around that size. You could probably get away with 3x3 but IMHO smaller than that is too small.

Movement for human types is 6" per turn and Bows have a 12" range so a 2ft table will be very cramped.

I suppose it depends on the size of the forces you are hoping to field. GW has certainly published a few scenarios that take place on 2 x 2 boards. Most of them are on 4 x 4.

Unless you are only planning to play with smaller forces (say a dozen figures as side) all of the time, I'd probably say you want at least a 3 x 3.

Where can I get polystyrene sheets from?? Made the Board and frame just need poly sheets to sculpt the terrain went to B&Q but didn't have any, any suggestions ??

You local DIY/Hardware store should carry some, they are used as insulation after all.
