1866 Prussians
« on: March 06, 2008, 12:48:20 PM »
Gentlemen, at Exeter last Saturday I made a purchase of 28 mm 1866 Prussians from Baker Company. So impressed I ordered a few more packs on Monday, which arrived this morning. Well worth getting hold of if you want some Historical Prussians. Hopefully next weekend I will put some photos of them, together with HLBSc British.

Hi Nick,

I am intersted in seeing these, hope you will bring some along on 5th april.  :)
How do they compare with the Foundry FPW figures which form the balance of my collection?
Also of note the new Helion & Co figures should be out soon, will be interesting to see those.
What are your thoughts on the HLBS figs? I have the household cavalry, but was put off the infantry by some bad comments.

They are more lively than the Foundry and slightly taller so would not mix in units. I have some buckshee Foundry command that I was going to use but no chance! Much more variety though with at least 6 variations in each pack of 8.

The HLBCs Cav are ok, thanks to ebay I  have 9 each of 2nd Life Guard, Blues and Royals and 1st Dragoons. Ok, big on big horses.  Again from ebay I have 10 units of 10 HLBSc Infantry, ok, a little stiff in poses, marching or standing with a couple firing. After nearly 2 months I received the Redoubt British yesterday, much nicer.

Oh I forgot, I have some of the Helion and co figures on order, awaiting the moulds in Australia to be finished or something. Speaking to the chap from Baker Coy he said that his moulds were ex Helion (I saw an advert about 10 years ago in one of the magazines) and that they were being sent off to Australia, I await to see if there is a link!
