Resident Evil monsters miniatures : help needed
« on: October 04, 2012, 07:35:06 PM »
I would like to play Resident Evil games in 28mm. I already found all the heroes I needed but I can't find any suitable miniatures for the  Axeman (which should be at least 50mm tall) and lickers (as the Heresy lurkers are oop). Any idea ? I can convert existing miniatures.

I wish I were an octopus to paint more miniatures...Cthulhu must be a great painter

There was that Silent Hill pyramid head monster a few weeks ago here on the LAF, it looked sorta like the Axeguy.

Apart from that, maybe Reaper, they have tons of stuff :D

Check this guy's blog. Far and away the best RE collection I Have seen, and he has mini ideas for most of the creatures.

Heresy used to have a few excellent proxies, but I'm not sure if they're still produced :/

No, they are oop.

More ideas are welcome even if the Hasslefree beasties might fit with a conversion.

Maybe one of the Enigma Minis as basemodell, Primus Death or Loratham?
http://www.enigmaminiatures.com/en/massive.html

They are quite huge, I use them together with 40mm minis, and still they little bigger.
Could measure them and give you the exact height, if of interest.

Good to see you back here, Eric  ;)

I checked Confrontation miniatures and the only one which could fit would be an apostate of darkness like this one :

The Enigma Primus Death would be perfect as a basis but converting a 16€ miniature would be a bit pricey...

Hi Tobias  ;)

Heres a guy I call HammerMan. He was a WIP in that photo, but he's almost complete now. I'll be posting a new photo on the blog soon.

Hrm, here is what I would suggest for Lickers if you want something close...

Get a few Venom figures from Heroclix, I think one had the tounge (if not, use green stuff and a wire)...

Get some brains, I think Black Cat Bases sells a set of brains, have to cut around the head or you could even sculpt the brain bumps on top..you could also use the bioware that the Tyranids had on their sprue that looked like a brain, I think it was a hormone bio thing...

use putty or perhaps even Genestealer talons for the claws...

Should hit you fairly close....

Get a few Venom figures from Heroclix,

Thats similar to what I did to make mine.  The Venom head from the (Critical Mass set), a green stuff brain and a Horrorclix "Tickler" body gave me this:

Its not perfect and the photo isnt great, but its not a bad representation of a licker I reckon.  There is a little more info HERE.

The brain is the very first thing that I ever tried to sculpt, so I am pleased that it turned out even as well as it did.  It wasnt very difficult :)
