Where to buy unique miniatures
« on: October 11, 2012, 06:07:18 PM »
I wasn't sure where to put this question but here I go. I'm looking for sites that sell interesting and unique war miniatures. Also looking for sites that take special orders. Orders such as "Hello, I'd like you to make something like this."

Eureka' Miniatures 100 club is such an idea, but you'll need other like-minded people and a bit of patience.

Most companies get inundated with wish lists all the time, so don't expect them to jump at the chance of making that one-armed juggler on a skateboard you've always wanted, as there is probably a market of precisely ONE casting for it, making it not worth their while.

Unique does tend to suggest its very different from existing miniatures so there may be a good reason it doesn't exist - ie if there isn't a market commercially for it.

Of course, if you want to get what you want, then hire a sculptor....

Be sure to have a good brief of what you want, or some sketch art

second that...

But be careful.  Most of us so called "manufacturers" got our start making our own custom miniatures or vehicles, for our own use.  After selling off extras to help offset the cost, you end up doing more...

And then it snowballs, and you suddenly are in the miniatures business!
