It's not a mold line, it's a scar  ;)

Nice work.
Slowly?-Maybe?
But worth it in the end?- Oh, yes!

By the by, the guys at Hasselfree are AWESOME!  I went to order the set over the weekend and PA 'Fred' was out of stock, so they sent a general email that they now have them back and so I emailed to see if I could add him to my order before it shipped.  HF replied very fast and said they had a small problem with one of the other items I ordered and that there would be a delay.  And they would send me the Fred mini for free to compensate me!

Not just great sculpts, GREAT customer service!

Real life interfered and I was unable to complete the diorama on time. Nevertheless, I'm continuing very slowly.

Progress recently.

The luggage rack is necessary to hide the "surprise" on the other side!

Looks fantastic Mate, but 2 things.

1) What kind of stencil did you use to paint the MM?

2) Did you think about doing some black outline on it? I think if you did, the whole van would just POP!

Cheers!

I used frisk film to do the stencils. I did try paper but the 'temporary' glue wasn't so temporary. I also managed to put the stencils on backwards! So the purists amongst you will notice that the green/blue curve on the lower half is reversed which then means the orange flowers are in the wrong places!

The orange words and flowers are homemade decals. In a couple of places the black outline is rubbing off too :(

The whole story of this build is on the forum of doom thread here ... http://forum-of-doom.com/index.php?topic=16338.0 which discusses the whole black lining options. I just haven't got round to it yet!

Cheers mate!  I was thinking of using liquid mask and then cutting it out with an xacto...  But I'll read up on what you did!

My van arrived today, its..... a LOT smaller than I expected.  I thought it'd be more 1/43 which I think is perfect for 28mm, but it was much closer to my PA 1/64 Matchbox's....

Then I realized I never saw a pic of your HF minis and the Van.... lol

Drop me a pm with your email. If I can find them, I'll forward you the files I made for the frisk film. They weren't a perfect fit, but they were a huge help.

A suggestion:

HF makes the scooby gang 'improved' with weapons.  I think they'd get a better ride.  I'd go with a van, schoolbus, or maybe one of those VW van/bus things, make it appropriate for zombies/post-apocalypse (spikes and armor welded on) then paint 'Mystery Machine II' on it.

Very nice. :-*  I had a similar thought when I saw the mystery machine & zombie survivor version of the gang.  Now I have some more motivation get painting.  :)

BTW, the model toys my children had of the mystery machine had an orange stripe along the sides. I didn't notice that most of the show's images I had pulled up on the web.  Any one know if the mystery machine had more than one paint job?

My original intention was to 'up armor' the original MM, much that sae way the characters weap'd up without going say, paramilitary....

I think this will be an AWESOME group for my Zombicide game, with special scenarios.
