Corkers, every one! And the group shot only enhances the insanity.

As for the unit's nom de guerre... How droll, yet apropos!  ;)

Well done they look sweet!
I'd love to steal the idea, but I don't think I'm capable of sculpting all of the lovely riding gear!

Very nice! Like the colour choice, gives a kind of dinotopia vibe.

FFF - thank you.

Yes - Dinotopia was definitely an influence. I love James Gurney's work!

Hey Col,

So if i read correctly, the saddle blankets and reins were brass-foil and the "muzzles" were greenstuff?
As for brass-foil and anyone who wanted to use such a material, is there a minimum thickness, or brand or whatnot to look for? :-)

Hi Grimnar

You read correctly.

I get my brass foil from tubes of tomato puree. It's great stuff to work with, doesn't tear easily and holds its shape. (The foil, that is - the tomato puree is a bit gloopy for model-making.)

I cook a lot of chilli, curry and Italian food, so I get through a bit...

Just squeeze out the puree into a container, cut the ends off the tube and split it open with a knife. Once washed, it can be easily flattened out into a sheet. I sort of 'scrape' it smooth with a metal ruler - a technique which would destroy other materials.

Hope that helps.

I'd forgotten you'd mentioned this before; haven't seen such containers/tubes in these parts. Might find it in Baltimore, of course. Lot's of old world charm, don't you know...  lol

Sounds relatively thick, yet pliable. Impressive. And, as I said, not here...  ;)

I get my medical ointment in a metal based tube. I wonder if it is the same. I'll have to give it a try when I finish of my current tube.
