Suppression Markers for T&T
« on: October 28, 2012, 01:13:30 AM »
After playing my first game of Triumph & Tragedy (T&T) for the Mexican Revolution period, I realized that suppression markers are very important.  In some of my larger units I was getting quite a stack of markers that became a bit cumbersome to move with the units.  They were also hard to read.  I decided I needed something simpler and also more appealing to the game.  What would look unobtrusive in Mexico wilderness?  Cacti!  You can find prickly pear cacti all over the Northern Mexico. Texas, etc...

So, I had previously ordered some from Pegasus for terrain and decided they'd work for this purpose.

A unit of Peons hides behind a hill after suffering the brutal effects of Federale machine gun fire.

Each base is numbered 1,2,3 and 4.  So you can use 1 or multiples to add up to the current suppression level.  I plan to make some "casualties" out of my extra troops and use them for when the unit has reached it's max suppression level.

Nicely done - simple and effective.  :)

Have seen them with removable mini dice on the base too.

Cheers

Thanks guys.

How was the game ? Will we see a report ?

It was a lot of fun and ran really smooth for a first try.  I really like the activation system.  No report for this one, but definitely in the future.  Afterwards I read the FAQ and rule updates and browsed the T&T topics and figured out some of the stuff I was doing wrong.  I'm looking forward to running some of my friends through a game very soon.

I say, those do look rather spiffing. Great idea & brilliantly done.

A copy of the T&T rulebook landed on my mat yesterday so I've been rummaging through the lead pile this morning eager to find some figures for my first small skirmish. May have to 'borrow' your idea for some suppression markers  :D
...and what fresh new hell is this?
