Cheat Sheet for review
« on: November 05, 2012, 05:50:41 AM »
I've created a cheat sheet tries to outline all the common rules & playing steps.  I'd be happy to share it with anyone that would like it.  But it'd be great if someone could review it to make sure I got it all correct.

http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd255/Black_Cavalier_Photos/Wargaming/misc/sacheetsheet.png

The original fine is in Excel, but I don't have a place to host files, so I too screenshots of it to make it into a graphics file.  Sorry if it's a bit small or fuzzy, the original was bigger & clearer before I uploaded it to a photo site.

& normally, I'd just paste the picture directly to be displayed in this post, but that made the text too small to be readable.

Thanks for any help

Remember, remember, the Dalek December
With Paris in ruins and London in ember
In times of the future when fears are abating
Don’t try to forget them, the Daleks are waiting
Quietly planning and scheming and hating…

There are free file uploader services on the web, they don't even require an eMail adress. One I have used in the past is http://en.swoopshare.com/?sid=edf194487278d511402bf1666038e4df

Maybe you could try to convert to file to pdf for easier viewing :)

I don't currently play Stranger Aeons but I'm sure it will come in handy, I remember having to search quite a bit through the rulebook on the first few games.

I have bookmarked this thread, I might take a look in the future when I start playing again. Thanks so far for your work!

Looks like a really good start. Here's a little feedback/wording for you:

- Any models within 5" of someone with command can use that model's resolve, they don't have to be nominated.
- Rather than saying Face Up or Face Down state, maybe just say that they're not in a "Normal" state.
- Shooting: Each die rolled >= DEX is a hit.
- Charge: If opponent Face Down, automatically remove them "as a Major Injury"
- Before CC begins, an unarmed model in will automatically take 1 hit from an armed opponent
- Pass = No Effect

I can't recall at the moment, but I think the Alert attack is still restricted to your weapon's range rather than 10"...but it may simply say 10" in the rules.

I like what you've got so far. This would be helpful even for me and I know the rules pretty well. Keep working on it! :)

There's a program called CutePDF, it's free, and it allows you to print anything to it as if it were a printer. No watermarks or anything, and it squirts out a great quality PDF.

That's how I did my cheat sheet "reference guide" and I use it at work constantly. Great program.

Maybe a dumb question: from the answers above I get the feeling that a "cheat sheet" has nothing to do with cheating, is it the same as a "Quick Reference Sheet"?

Yes, QRS is the same as a cheat sheet.  I'm guessing it's called a cheat sheet because it's similar in style to a sheet of notes that you'd use for cheating on a test.

A better term (besides QRS) would be Summary Sheet.

Don't believe him. He has a magnet attached to the underside of the sheet, and matching magnets on the "1" face of all his dice. He rolls nothing but 6's.
