I like this game to. Fast moving with a lot of action and well balanced strategical options. The odds are obviously stacked against the defenders but the battle swayed back and forth enough times to still make it interesting for the defender. I shot down a lot of a lot of Jim's (jimbibly's) and Richard's (Cptn Blood's) zulu bases and even fought them back over the perimeter. In the end all zulu bases were on the table, all my ammunition gone and not a single Englishman left alive. What a glorious day!

I played this game too, as Hammers said it was fast moving and made you think about your choices - card driven sequence/turn/event was a good mechanic, and the bullet casings recording ammunition use was a nice touch.

Excellent! Love the bright colour and the "old school" look.  :-*
Well I've lead an evil life, so they say, but I'll outrun the Devil on judgement day.

This is the point in the second game where the British won I believe. I'm pretty sure they didn't think they were going to survive :)
Once again, thanks to all my players, your approach to the game made it what it was. I can relax playing Zulu and watch the action, unlike Invasion of the Saucer People, so I always enjoy it.
I'm taking it back into school next Wednesday for the kids to play.

I *think* but I am not quite sure... Well, now I *am* sure this was the second breach I repelled because the first one was Richards attack on the south west corner (from my perspective). So what I am stressing is that the game, even though the zulu players have an endless supply of troops, really has the potential to move back and forth quite a bit. The way the action deck is constantly reshuffled makes the chances for British relief quite low but they sure can go down in a blaze of glory!

The British won the second time you run it, did they not?

Also, what fortune for us that you did bring the game, Paul! I remember you saying Thursday at the pub that you were not inclined to, but I selfishly pleaded with you to bring it so that I at least could have a look. Very glad I did!

Looks good though.

The mark of a good meet. A few more games than you have time to game. Makes you want to come back for more.

it is not a bad idea to have a few smaller, quicker games about the room at meets like this. There are often a bit of lull between the action of the larger games. Kestrel/David and Harvey/? brought a couple of 2by2 feet games. I did not play, but one seemed to be a SF Wings of War variant and those run quite quickly.

A most enjoyable game - thanks Paul  :)

I only took one picture - as my Zulu hordes first breached the outer mealie-bag wall... (they were repulsed!)
