Nice reds. Black wash or red wash?

I have always found Reds to be challenging to paint, so I wanted to try and expand my skills a bit
Its a GW Flesh Wash (browny/rust colour) with Blood Red highlights on completion
I wanted a warmer look and thought black would give a 'dirty' look instead.

They've come up very other-worldly. Nice one.

Over the January long weekend two of mate mates came up from Melbourne to go to the local wargame show and we played a bunch of games, including of course some Strange Aeons.  (As a creepy coincidence, we are Black Goat Cultists 71, 72 and 73 even though we bought our memberships independently.  Maybe the planets are aligning.....  All Hail the Dark Mother!)

I had worked hard to finish off my cemetery terrain for the occasion and given that much of it was inspired your others' works here, wanted to share the new bits with you guys.  They are all scratch built, the cobblestone being made from old business cards (*Tip - don't use embossed ones - you can piece together my name and phone number of some of them!).  Many thanks indeed to Mason for the donation of the weeping angels for the entrance way.  The fallen statue is actually a fridge magent of the statue "Winged Victory" which I got many years ago from the Louvre.

Looking good, I like the colours of the statues against the rest of the terrain.

You must forgive me, I thought that I had already commented and have just noticed that I hadn't.... ::)
Sorry.

Great use of the WV and the cobblestones look great.
Excellent choice of colours.

I know that feeling.
I started to do mine a few months ago and then ended up in the Old West ever since.
Soon.....maybe...... :D

Ahoy Gents,

long time and no updates from me.  I've been busy on errands for the Cult with no time to paint...

Actually, I have now relocated to the New England region for the next year or so, and with all my modelling gear back in Australia, it promises to be a bit of a dry spell for me for awhile.

Instead I see this being more of an 'acquisition' phase, a painting pause if you will, to gather new materials for future endeavours and adventures.  Naturally I've started this by giving Uncle Mike a wad of cash during the recent kickstarter  :D

So for the new future I'll be living vicariously through you guys but also touring Lovecraft country in person.  Very inspiring stuff

All Hail the Dark Mother!

An expensive time of life then - but that will mean a pethora of painted new stuff after the lean times  :D

Don't you know it V!  Still, I would be delighted to take additional purchasing suggestions  ;D
I started a crusade two years ago to build all the scenery items I need for all the published scenarios.
Still need a few things though, and one can never have enough tentacles of course...

Thanks Klener Zonr - All hail Mason, who generously donated them for this project  :)
