New not-Cthulhu in the works

From Troll Forged's "Assimilation Alien Host" Kickstarter:

Should be a lovely model if it lives up to the concept art, and I like the variant heads so you can decide just how much of an octopus hat Big C is wearing.  Supposed to stand between 6-8" tall and stand on a 120mm base.

Of course, they do need another $8K in the next two days for it to get made, but that shouldn't be too much of a stretch.  Not like it's the only cool model for Mythos & horror fans to consider backing for - there are some nice alt-sculpt hounds of Tindalos, dholes, cthonians, spiders of leng, and byakhee in the mix already.  The company's news page has the best array of images:

and they've got a nice page detailing the current rewards and extras for various pledge levels:

Down to the last eight hours or so at the Assimilation Alien Host crowdfunding drive

link

and in typical Kickstarter fashion it's really taken off in the last couple of days.  Offers a nice variety of horrible aliens (humanoid and otherwise) in various sizes from larva swarm bases to 8" not-Cthulhu overlords and goliath wyrms.  There are also add-ons for scenic bases, alien eggs, human and "predator" alien hunters, and a dreadnought combat walker for them.  Many of the models are suitable for use in horror, fantasy dungeoncrawl, superhero, or kaiju gaming as well as scifi.

Current sweet spots for pledges are the $50USD, $110USD, and $200USD levels, and Troll Forged is being unusually generous by allowing you to tailor your pledges by swapping out up to half the base cost (so $25USD, $55USD, and $100USD) in figures to get an equal value of other models, so you can really shift things around and get what you want most rather than sticking with fixed package deals.  There is a restriction that you can only do that with one $50USD Host pledge, but Swarm and Queen pledges can do so repeatedly if you've plunged for more than one.  There's a chart here

link

that details what each pledge level comes with and individual figure values for swapping things around.

There are other pledge levels (including some for human-only or predator-only mixes) which can also have swaps made, but the three that are on the chart are by far the best values, especially with so many of the stretch goal extras added on.

Just two stretch levels to go at this point, and I'd guess the $40USDK one (and the goliath wyrm) will be reached in short order.  $42USDK might be a little more iffy, but even without it this is quite a bargain.  Expected shipping is sometime in May 2013, although judging by past Kickstarter projects and the amount of extras that have been added that may be optimistic.  Troll Forged does have a good rep, though, and he's a pretty quick sculptor with some of the work done already.

Well we are at 39k with 8 hours left, that huge goliath wyrm is driving up the pledges!  The carnage hound on a 80mm base at the 42k stretch goal is awsome.
