Puppetswar
« on: October 22, 2012, 01:58:24 AM »
Has anyone got the spacewarriors lightspeeder or lightfighter from these guys?
I bought a couple yesterday and was wondering what people thought of them? I know ATF but I really am a helpless impulse buyer.
While I'm at it anyone else having trouble getting to the PW site?I was going to put a link in with a pic of what I bought but can't access their site.
Pete

Yeah those.Anybody have any first hand experience with them? Are they crap to put together, hows the resin? etc.

I wouldn't worry about linking to the picture. You could also link to GWs page with the Stormtalon lol

I don't have this kit (yet), but I have others from Puppetswar. I think the resin can be compared to other manufactures from  Poland like MaxMini, HiTech or Kromlech. Surface's okay but you may have that occasional little bubble cavity now and then - nothing problematic and the same as with other resin miniatures, methinks...

Exactly.

I was a mod on the Bolter and Chainsword for years and we (very) frequently had to change hotlinked pictures into links, as you basically leach someone elses bandwidth, without proper visiting their site. And on busy forums like the B&C and LAF, traffic can easily exceed what the owner of the picture has paid for, which can result in additional charges by their ISP.

Nowadays, with bandwidth not being such a dear commodity as it was a couple of years ago, it might not be as much of an issue anymore. But it's still a matter of good webiquette I suppose not to. I know I would balk at seeing my sites' bandwidth leached; I'd rather they visit my sites instead...

Oh; and doesn't Youtube encourage hotlinking to them by even providing embedding codes? I suppose they're ok with the whole thing as part of their policy.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Haupt... I have a few Kromlech pieces so if they are like them it will be ok.

Inso   I kinda like it too.I have a couple Stormtalons and was just looking for some variant models.I'm doing a skimmer/flyer army for 40k Stormravens,Stormtalons,Landspeeders and the Kromlech jetbikes as bikes.

Hey all,
Just got these models.I gotta say they are very nice. The resin is  strong  and ,while it does have some flash, it is very thin and looks like it will clean up nicely.
There are a good bit of parts but they go together well. The amount of weapon options is really impressive! They come with magnets and pre made slots for them to fit into. The not assaultcannons are quite a bit larger than GW versions.I'm sure I'll have some extra to do some neat converting with too.

Size wise they a comparable to the Stormtalons by GW but are thinner in the body so they actually look much more aerodynamic.
All in all I think I'm going to like the end result.Good kits.

Interesting kit.

Why would hotlinking from a manufacturers site be bad manners?? It's free publicity for them!!
