Russian Orthodox Cross gravestones for 28mm?
« on: November 20, 2012, 06:53:22 AM »
I've been getting the scenery-building itch again, after too long not doing a thing, and it occured to me that my Russian hamlet has a church but no graveyard. I have some regular graveyard scenery (and more planned) but looking at Russian graveyard photos on Google Image Search shows a lot of Russian Orthodox crosses (with the three crossbars instead of just one as in most Western crosses) in stone and wood as grave markers.

Now, lots of companies make slab and (Western) cross gravestones. But does anyone make Orthodox cross grave markers suitable for 28mm?

I might just modify a few of the Renedra plastic crosses to have the two extra crossbars, I guess. Definite advantage of hard plastic, it's so easy to modify.

Why not 'engrave' orthodox crosses on the plain Renedra Stones?

I made a couple of practice ones using some cheap wooden craft crosses from Michaels and came to the conclusion it would be easier to have some cut out of MDF with a laser.

Of course I never went any further with the idea.

It would be nice to have some, especially a few with the little roof addition.
