Early Tudor lonely hearts club
« on: November 20, 2012, 11:19:22 PM »
This is perhaps something I should have done a while back rather than making a load of new friends then sneaking off to a rival school but would you lot mind awfully if I continued to post my early Tudors here? Technically I should stay in the pikes muskets and flouncy shirts board but it's more like tomahawks, matchlocks and pirates with a few sulking landsknechts here and there ( that was tongue in cheek btw).

Anyway, I don't want to offend any purists but I think this predominantly bow and bill armed force would feel much more at home here, even if it is technically 13 years too old.

However, I am happy to go to my place should that be the right thing to do.

As published medievalists cannot agree on when the Middle Ages begin and end (and probably never will) I see no problem with your amazing project being posted here. Just my two cents.

Same here... Is there any real difference between warfare in 1480 and 1520 other than superficial ones? I can only speak for myself, but I would think anything pre-Pavia(ish) would fit on here quite well. I wouldn't baulk at seeing landsknechts on here either, sulking or not.

I rejoice to see the power of common sense and freedom of choice in full swing. If only the rest of the world....

Very glad to have you back Stuart.

Stuart,

I'd be offended if you didn't post your lovely work here on this board!  :)

To be honest, your subject matter straddles the Late Medieval and Early Renaissance 'periods' so I see it as perfectly legitimate that you post here.

Darrell.

Great figures, but I like how you're posting Tudors but you're a Stuart... ;)

haha, well apart from a few early 16c Scottish notables there's far too many 'flouncy shirts' to entertain any Stuarts (though i am a fan of a good shirt)

Hurrah for good king Hal and his love of shippes:O) I cannot think of a superlative that suits your work, your assumed age taken into account suggests you have extreme skill.

Time to build some great shippes I think.

It seems that your inclusion in the Medieval section is quite academic Stuart  8).

Good man  :).
