Last night I photographed my entries for the next three weeks.

I will need that time to get five figures for the "Mad Science" round painted up. After that I have one more group, maybe, prepainted that I can photograph. After that I may be screwed.

I hear you, brother. I am applying the exact same strategy and I am limited to just a few already painted team and maybe one or two primed ones. Other than that I wont have them time. On the other hand I 've told myself that it I don't have anything I really want to show, why should I feel any preasure?

You feel pressure to paint because your conscience is encouraging you to excellence in your work. Little did you realize that the LPL would also be an exercise in Lutheran theology.

I submitted my first team last night.  I'm participating in this in the hope of getting some painting done (having painted only one miniature in the past four years), as opposed to winning.  I have a couple teams planned out that will consist mainly of things I painted years ago, with the addition of one or two newly-painted minis to round the collection out to five.  I may end up submitting one or two teams from long ago.  My real goal, however, is to complete one or two fresh teams.  I'm a sloooooow painter though, so it will be a challenge.

I've noticed that I after last season have become more efficient in my painting. With a week or so to paint (roughly) and 10 weeks to plan ahead for, you obviously need to think things through. This habit has sort of stuck now and has replaced that monkey-se-monkey-do style of painting; you see something nice, you slap some paint on it with no clear purpose in mind, you get distracted by some other nice thing, reapeat...

I kind of like that style of painting.  Because I don't actually play games with my minis, there's never a purpose for them except to amuse me for a while.    :)

That said, I'd like to have more units/squads/teams, with a little more cohesion to my collection.  I've always found it difficult to paint more than one mini at a time.  Slapping paint on six of them for my first entry was truly difficult; paint drying up, trying to mix the exact same shade, etc.  I'm discovering that two at a time is pretty good for me.

"No. 19". I did not participate last time so do not know how many entries was normal. What is the most ever in a round? Is 19 a high round?

Tomorrow is going to be fantastic viewing and probably lots of agonising voting
