Finally another update. With Mason going so fast I can't keep behind can I  ;)

 lol
No pressure, mate!
 ;)

That does look good, sir.
 :-*

That is one of the buildings on my list, as I really like that 'under construction' look.
The only thing I am not sure about is the pre-painted look, though.
Does anyone do one in plain MDF?

In november I bought the 4Ground Building Under Construction. Yesterday I stuck it together and gave it a light weathering and a home made boarding in front of the building. I kind of like the natural wood so I don't think I put more paint on the building. It is a "new" building so the wood is still fresh.

It is a nice two story building though it was a bit fiddly to put together, especially the roof.

Hope you like the building... This really, really, really is the last building in the town of Hickory Flat, I promise  :D

Is thus the one we got at Crisis?  Looks great!!

Cheers,

Za

Howdy...

So Life had some big twist and turns for the past one and a half year. So hobby wise nothing big happened and I did not visit LAF. I am catching up now and picked up my paint brush (even thinking about entering LPL10). I finished some models, cows and a wagon with some victims in it. (I have more in store but they are entering the LPL so you have to be patient. All in all Hickory Flat just came back to life  :D.

A drunk, a priest and the store owner:

The wagon with casualties:

Cheers,

Za

They do seem to need another coat of matt varnish  lol

It's a fantastic table!  I've had the pleasure to play on it a few times.

Welcome back  :)

I like the Priest. In one hand the Bible and in the other his reliable six shooter. Don't want to argue with this guy about the Testament  ;)
The idea of an oxe wagon carrying away the wounded is awesome. Might use it for my own table!

Greetings!

Just had a blast going through this thread for the first time. Can I ask how you paint your wagons? - You are painting them right? They look like they have had a little bit of something done to them, but I can't put my finger on it, but I really like the results.

Thanks for the nice reply's guys.

I paint them with brown shoe polish (the brand is KIWI) and then give them a wash of Army painter strong tone (not the dip but the wash). Then a grey dry brush to represent dust.

Cheers,

Za

A very small update... but one can never have enough doggies in town. I made a special rule for them during play (Ffol).

A dog is a best mans friend:
If a miniature comes within 1” of the dog role a D6.
On a roll of 1 apply the ‘a dog is a best mans friend’ rule. The dog will accompany you for the remainder of the game. In close combat you add +1 to your die roll.
On a roll of 6 the dog bites you in the leg. You get a -1” penalty on movement for the remainder of the game.
On a roll of 2-5 the dog is startled by your presence and runs D10” in random direction (scatter).

Cheers

Nice dawgs.
 :-*

That sounds like a fun rule.
A little bit of randomness like that adds to a game, I reckon.
I may well nick that idea myself.

Thanks guys. I love a little bit of randomness in the games to. I also have a rule for my vulture.

Herman the Vulture:
If a miniature is wounded and comes within 1” of the Vulture role a D6.
On a roll of 1 the Vulture is attracted by the smell of blood and attacks. You suffer 1 wound.
On a roll of 6 the Vulture also attacks and he picks out an eye.
For the rest of the game you have a -1 penalty for shooting on the to hit chard.
On a roll of 2-5 the Vulture is startled by the sudden noise and flies away.

cheers

I can attest, I've been 'vultured' in Zaj's games before....

Excellent to see you back posting.

I read your thread a few months ago and really enjoyed it.

Just a question on the kiwi shoe polish, when I last polished shoes kiwi was a wax polish, doesn't it repel the water based washes, the army painter wash is water based I think.
