Dear Gentlemen (and Ladies, of course!),

Is anybody aware of good sources (no matter if it is only or a 'real' book) dealing with the Greek War of Independence?

I'm mainly interested in wargames 'related' aspects (uniform guides, OOB, etc.) but any tip will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

There was a set of rules and source book by Spyros koumousiss on the 1821 revolution but for the life of me I can't think what it was called. His company was called Alpha cast and the books and figures were available via MY figures.

It was " freedom or death "

Not wargames related, but a history of the war - The Flame of Freedom by David Brewer is a good read.

With an increase in interest in this savage but noble war I can think of no better a read than the period writing of W. Alison Philips

Unfortunately Spiros Koumousiss died of a heart attack a few years back. While I managed to get a copy of his rules I never managed to get any of the figures. As far as I know his family still have the moulds (unless anyone has more recent news?) and keep hoping that one day another manufacturer will bid to purchase them and re-release the range. I saw a large game, with Spiros in attendance, at the VMS open day in 2002, and the figures did look lovely.
I'm not a mercenary. Killing's more of a hobby for me.

I know several gamers who game it in 28mm mainly through conversions of Dixon, Foundry, Old Glory and Perry Miniatures.
Wish I had the skill to convert!! Will be using Perry Miniatures Bashis as the backbone of my forces...

Spiros Koumousiss wrote three articles on the GWI for Miniature Wargames in 1999. I'd be enormously grateful if anyone has copies or could point me to where I could find them.
Thanks.

Thank you,
