Need help- WW2 Airborne Recce / jeep units
« on: December 15, 2012, 12:23:06 AM »
I am sure there is a Lafer out there who could point me in the right direction. I am trying to find out what formations used recce jeeps, with 50 cals mounted etc in US airborne Divs in WW2.

I know they use armoured jeeps later in the Ardennes.

I have found an Orbat for 101AB DIV, which lists, recon battalions and Cavalry Squadrons. I presume the Cavalry used M8's and the like.

Now if it was a Brit unit I would know!!!!

Is the US Airborne Orbat very different from a US Armoured Div, or Regimental Combat team?

Any leads or images greatly appreciated.
