Thanks Nick - it does help a lot and lets the players remember the personality they are playing.  :)

I assume you don't use Sharp Practice for your own Mexico/Zoro games any more (which have been absent lately - what with Mars and all that!).

No, we are still using SP for the Texas War games, we actually played one a couple of weeks ago and failed to photograph it ::) (For Zorro we use LOTOW)  We are  going to adapt SP for Mars, I reckon its perfect for it. :)

Having seen your game, I am itching for another one, but won't be able to fit it in until after the holidays  lol

Matelots? Roast-Beef-of-Old-England Tars paddling around with that most distinctly Froggie of all maritime appellations?  The very idea!  ;)

You want to get yourself a bunch of Lascars, the Bombay Marine* was full of 'em (though I'm not sure what figures one would use to represent them).

Great stuff, as always.

Cracking idea to put fluff on the cards  8)

Might just have to steal that for the Edo games I'm planning  :)

Very effective, and a great aide memoire for someone with a flaky memory like mine.  ;D

Wow - interesting. Love to see that game. :)

Please steal away!!

I had NO idea Matelot was a French term - the Lardies use it in their rules and I just went with it. Thanks for drawing my attention to it Plynkes - Makepeace would NEVER have that!!  :D

And as for Lascars I did toy with using some sword armed Indians, but the choices for Indian sailors are lets say limited, plus I really wanted to use our Foundry pirates (painted as sailors) for something. I may have a unit or two of Lascars still, but they would basically be musket, spear and sword armed Foundry stuff - unless anyone can suggest some better options?

Very effective, and a great aide memoire for someone with a flaky memory like mine.  ;D

Thanks AJ - I really suggest going to the effort to use these types of card. They are easy to make with basic word processing skills and really bring the Big Men to life.

Yeah, that it was a French term escaped us... probably because we were saying "mate-lot" instead of "matelow" (best I can do) lol

From what I've seen of Frank's collection it looks like we might have to polish up on our French after all :)
