I was aware of dog treadles for many uses, but unaware of a whole breed for the purpose.

Don't think we'll be seeing a new genre, but a dog-powered computational engine certains needs doing! As if a cavy could handle the load. Pish-tosh!  :D

Sure, Paolo Bacigalupi's The Windup Girl is termed a "biopunk science fiction novel" today but it will hailed as a precursor to dogpunk o_o
