Thanks chaps, really appreciated.

That's one of the coolest things I've ever seen!!!

I've been looking at Roger Dean art from Yes and Asia covers as inspiration for my next big fantasy table.

That would be wonderful. I always had in mind to do a model of the wooden spaceship on the cover of Fragile by Yes, and the lyrics are tailor made for a fantasy game (who or what were The Mooner and The Marcher??? ???), and some of those flying islands would be mad (were they called Yessongs?) I have a copy of Views by Roger Dean, well worth getting if you have not done so.

Definitely a work of “clear understanding”

RMZ

glad to see plenty of lyric quotes here, not my favourite album by Tull (I hate Watching me, watching you), but among the top 4 (others are Songs from the Wood, Stormwatch, and Heavy Horses)!!

Oh WOW!

That is quite simply breathtaking. I am in awe of your concept and the execution of it. Thank you so much for sharing.

I confess the title track is one that often comes up as inspiration for Arthurian / Dark Ages concepts of mine, but the output can't hold a candle to yours!

Roger Dean, Jim Fitzpatrick, Rod Matthews and their ilk were my favourites and inspirations from many years ago. I so wish that my talent could even begin to stretch in that direction :'(

This is a thing of beauty.  I think I'll crank some Jethro Tull up while I paint this evening.  Wonderfully inspiring.

Thanks chaps,
I love the song broadsword. I love the boat too. Are you going to put wings on your dwarves like the one on the sail?
Wasn't planning on winging the dwarfs, but I am planning on getting some mantic goblins and putting wings on those, to use as allies or enemies, not sure which. I would love  :-* some kind sculptor to make a figure of the guy on the sail, maybe about 60mm tall to use as a God or giant. I did start a conversion years ago on a Fiend factory Gnome assasin (Dark creeper from Fiend Folio) to turn him into this guy, but like so many of my ideas, the idea is as far as it gets.

or Michael Moorcock's 'Ice Spirit' http://www.rodneymatthews.com/icespirit.htm - you could use a Cutty Sark model as the basis!

I would dearly like to do a model of Matthews' Sea chariot or Rowenarc. The brown poster of the ship pulled by sea serpents.

Yep, it's one of those songs that's great to paint to, and all those artists are so inspiring......great times for fantasy stuff the seventies  o_o.
