Because "Shifty" was a member of the Band of Brothers, and is relevant to the WW2 board. ;)

I have lists of 83659370960 SS Soldiers from various divisions, should we list all their names, and not to mention their stories?
Tintin - Pulp Adventures in a orderly fashion
Gallows Falls - Western Village
Eisende - Mordheim costal village WIP
Rome - SPQR & Hail Caesar

Possibly because their stories, whilst relevent to WW2, may not be quite as morally acceptable? When HBO makes a series about them, then they may have their chance.  ;)

Really?  Gosh, the SS was a bigger organisation than the West dreamt! I take it that most of them didn't see any combat though.  :o

83 billion SS men? Kind of shoots the "not all Germans were Nazis" idea in the foot. Turns out not only was every German in the SS, everyone on Earth was in it too, and seemingly the populations of dozens of other planets too.

How the hell then did these idiots manage to lose? I thought they were supposed to be an elite?  lol

Yeah, sorry to break it to you, but there are only 7 billion people as of right now. Unless.......

Oh no! :o

The list knows no specific time period! To the Weird Wars board!

I'm sure 99% of the stories would be innapropriate for this forum.

As far as SS stories go, Michael Wittmann's story comes to my mind.

There are quite a number of memoirs that are quite appropriate and fascinating....... I am still haunted by the sight of German soldiers being murdered by the French in full view of US troops in BoB, and the murder of German soldiers in SPR by US troops.  No one has a monopoly of terror or horror in a war.

Whilst you are quite right. Years of occupation and abuse may lead to such hatred. Whilst those poor German soldiers may have been in the wrong place, to their victims they represented the power that had caused them such hurt and misery. Not saying it's 'right' but I think the less admirable actions by all of the Western allies pales compared to what was meted out by the occupying Nazi agencies.

By the way, what are the two sources you are refering to with regards to the US soldiers? I don't know the abbreviations.  ???

Exactly, but bearing in mind the age and training of most German soldiers at this time of the war, few of them would have ever been involved in atrocities.......

My father supervised German prisoners of war in Italy in 1945/6, his feeling was that they were ordinary blokes wanting to go home, they even covered for their officer so that he could see his Italian girlfriend....
