Hi, or 'look at what you made me do'
« on: December 25, 2012, 10:47:21 AM »
Time to introduce myself.
I've been roaming the forum for a good 2 months now I think.

I'm a 35 year old dad of 2, from the Netherlands and play mostly GW.
Lately I've been broadening my horizons and started/got my eyes on some other games.
Also my game group is starting to introduce miniatures in our RPG campaigns.

I consider myself a mediocre modeller. I can create some nice stuff, but it won't win competitions.
Luckily that's not my ambition (wouldn't mind though) and my production output is higher than most people I've played with over the years.
Some of the fine stuff on this forum has me inspired to up my game a bit, so I thought this a good moment to share with you the first experiment to better my scenery collection.

It is meant to be pretty multipurpose, so now world specific details.
I must say it looks better irl. The photo really picks up on the flaws, but you get the idea.
particularly the white in the straw doesn't show at all in real life.
So anyway, merry Christmas, thanks for the inspiration and you'll see me around.
I'm off to my parents to over eat.

'Mercy? I am far to brave to grant you mercy.'

What a great way to introduce yourself!

Nice build, The Voivod!
Very crisp and clean.
 :-*

It just needs a little weathering and it will really pop, I reckon.
I would start with a warm, light brown/cream colour on the white areas and then drybrush up to white for a more natural feel, but there is absolutely nothing wrong your work. It is very nice indeed.

Welcome to LAF.

This is the best place to get inspiration and to learn about new games, periods and rules.

Your building is neat and clean, so you have a good start.

See you around.

Best wishes.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Excellent work there bud; can't wait to give it its baptism of battle. Of course it'll just see me lose again, but hey; fighting over nice terrain always makes up for that... Let's see you do an entire fantasy village eh!  ;)

Oh; and blog your Necromunda terrain in the Future Wars section. It's worth it and getting helpful advice always boosts the building process!

And yes guys; we know eachother... :D
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Hello! Good to see you here. Must say that's quite a lovely cottage you have made. Very good indeed.

Having seen the cottage in the flesh last night, I can confirm that it does look even better in real life.

Also, it is bigger than it appears in the picture. A really nice building, and I would love to see an entire village like that! great stuff  8)
