Legend of the Seeker
« on: December 30, 2012, 04:29:40 PM »
Hi, I just recently stumbled across a really good TV show that I missed when it was on the air back in 2008-9.

Its called Legend of the Seeker.  It is based on the book The Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind.

I have to tell you, it was a very pleasant surprise!  I was looking for something to watch while I worked on my game's fantasy supplement, and it really kicks ass!

Check it out if you want a good show that falls somewhere between Hercules/Xena and Spartacus Blood & Sand.

I have been tempted by that.  I have read all the books and I know a lot of the book fans and also the author did not like the series.  I found the book series tedious in the end and thought it would go one for ever  o_o

Will have to get the series on DVD, I see Amazon have season 1 and 2 available as imports  :D

I've been streaming it on Netflix.  It probably is more interesting as a show, if the books go on like that.  It's not Spartacus: Blood & Sand, but I can definitely see where Raimi and Tapert did their trial run.

Eh, we found it a bit amatuerish, not brilliantly acted and... well a bit rubbish to be honest. It's no where near the league of Game of thrones.

However I guess there is little in the way of fantasy TV out there to watch after Zena and Hercules... lol :P.

Yeah, it would never come close to GOT. And the other stuff in the fantasy category on Netflix other than LOTR and such is awful and a half.  So for what I was expecting, it was enjoyable.  And hot chicks in red leather never ever hurts.  lol
