Some characters from the Iron Kingdoms (New photos 1/24/2013)
« on: January 04, 2013, 05:37:24 PM »
I've been fascinated with the characters from the Iron Kingdoms RPG for years now. When I got a good look at the miniatures Privateer Press were making for them I had to have some. The only thing that gets in the way is the level of detail each figure has. There's no such thing as a quick paint job on one of these guys. In the past few months I've finally gotten around to painting up a few more and wanted to show them off.

First off we have Father Dumas, a major character in the Witchfire Trilogy.

Next we have Vahn Oberen, another character from the Witchfire Trilogy.

Here we have Daniera Madise, a Cleric of Morrow.

Next we have a criminal of some repute, Draegyn, The Black Bastard

Here is the Ordic Adventurer, Gajan Vasco.

And finally we have the Valeria Alvaro, Ordic Pistoleer. Actually since I've gone with a completely different color choice she's probably not Valeria anymore. (I did two shots of her since it's hard to get a good angle of this pose. Well, it's hard to get a all-encompassing angle at least.)

Let me know what you think.

Great work! Privateer produce some great minis that are often overlooked. Your paint certainly does them justice.

Cheers,

Those are spiffy! I've used some of the Iron Kingdoms figures for the Dark heresy RPG too.

VERY COOL minis & some FINE brushwork & basing. In the past I've been overwhelmed by the numbers of minis Privateer Press has out; I'm have to check them out now. VERY WELL DONE!

I looked through their catalogue recently and was surprised to see how many well fleshed out fantasy armies they had in their Hordes range. Some quite unique looking stuff as well.

I was also pleased to find they had a bits service like GW used too, where you can order individual bits from figures and sets. 8)

Thank you for all the nice comments. I'm all kinds of proud right now. I took some more photos this morning, so here goes...

Gulgrenvogulugken "Gul", Gobber Rogue

Umbral Sorcerer, Infernal Umbral Reaver

Umbral Assassin, Infernal Reaver

Umbral Warrior, Infernal Umbral Reaver

Tomb Maiden (This miniatures usually comes with a bigger base, but I didn't like the way it looked on the 40mm base. It seems to fit this one better.)

That's it for now. I have a couple more to post in the next few days. Hope you enjoy, and thanks for the comments once again.

I got a few more characters painted last week, but today was photo day. Not great photography, but I wanted to add something right away. Let me know if I should take the pictures over or not.

First up, we have Lord Vyros and his servant.

Next we have a Bone Swarm. This is one of my favorite Iron Kingdom miniatures. I like it so much I had to post two pictures.

Then there's the Tomb Maiden. I decided to use the smaller base, because the big base makes her look tiny. She's supposed to be dangerous after all.

And finally we have Alexia. Whatever you do, don't trust her if she pinky swears. I have personal experience with this.

Please let me know what you think.

Very cool! I really like the Iron Kingdoms figures. Are you playing the RPG? If so, what are your impressions?

My buddy Mike ran the entire campaign a few months back. I really liked it. Maybe he can give you a better idea of how it runs. He must have liked it, because he did run the whole thing.
