It would be nice to see the Forest Loch entry without the photo special effects.

It is a stunning image and a real piece of art, but I could not judge the modelling and painting involved as I cannot say with any confidence what is modelling and what is effect.

I voted based on the entries where I could see the modelling and painting and judge that.

Yep Andy is right(thanks mate) ,there are no effects in my photo,it's just the terrain photographed with a blue card backdrop. No photo editing was used in the making of my picture, except some resizing :)

This set of pics definitely has to be pinned and should be displayed as a highlight of work produced on LAF.

There are also WIP threads for each of these entries if any one wants to get into the nitty gritty of their  construction, etc.  :)

Actually I'm a little hurt by robh's suggestion, one tries very hard to do something(as did everyone in this comp.) ,then gets ones nose rubbed in it.
I use an 10 year old SLR,6 megapixels, manually set white balance ,AV 38 and ISO at 200 (as low as my camera will go).I also always use an tripod, that's it.

Blackwolf, take it as a compliment. Only the really good pictures get accused of being faked. :-)

I on the other hand used a whole range of special effects to achieve my grainy, taken with a phone held by my toes look (or maybe it was the fact that there were no batteries in the camera so actually took it with my phone, but sadly not with my toes; despite evidence to the contrary).

Blackwolf, I'd take that as a huge compliment that your work is so good that someone mistook it for camera magickery-trickery!

ALL of these entries are first class and having struggled to submit my own piddling little entry in time I can appreciate the effort involved.

As the theme was water, I wanted that to influence my vote the most.
I stand in awe for Johnnytodd's scrachtbuilding skills and if there wasn't a theme, I definitly would have voted for him.
Andym's Pirate Skool was definitly the most humoristic, and although the waves in his tub look very good, Zafarelli and Blackwolf's representation are so lifelike I had to pick one of them.
The splashes in the Nymph pool are fantastic, but so is the stillness of the Loch.
So yes, I confess, in the end I voted for the naked ladies  ::)

When I built my entry, Mrs Zafarelli already worried that a male audience might prefer healthy ladies over zombified ones. So with next year's theme already specified by Hammers, I'll do Hylette and the Nymphomans... sorry, Nymph Men ;)
