My (nearly all plastic) take on Martians... Pic heavy

For years now I've been chewing on my Martian project, but the recent John Carter film finally got me going.  I first thought of buying some of the excellent metal figures around, but - since I was not really going to copy the film and my lead and plastic pile is REALLY getting HUGE - I decided to make it a bit of a challenge for myself by (at least for part of the Martian Forces) using some of the old "collectible" Star Wars plastics I had on the shelf, combined with some GW's.  The idea behind it is that the Star Wars figures are the guys that have built the Egyptian pyramids, whereas the Kroot have done those in Central America, this during their first stay on Earth, in a long forgotten age.  These are the results:

Martian armed skiff

The sail was made by sticking duct tape on both sides of a 170gr paper sail.  This enabled me to "shape" the sail (a "solar energy" panel) properly.

Mounting the skiff this way was probalby the best option: the (now masked) stand is fairly bulky & square and probably a pain to remove neatly.

Thank you, but, about "the poor humans", don't sell them short yet: I am working on (again) some plastics with a kick, but - no - they won't be based on 28mm plastic British colonials!  Wait & see...

I should have used quotes around the "poor humans", but I always like a scenario where the hummies start at the short end of the stick, and prove more resilient than first thought.

In the real world, only way we're gonna make it as is.

Also, too many old movies, I guess.
