Farpoint Games - new minis company
« on: January 14, 2013, 03:01:52 PM »
A while back I did a Workbench thread about making a robot, and said I'd be getting them cast and up for sale, along with some infantry... it's taken a lot longer than I'd hoped, but they are finally done. :D

Hello from Farpoint Games, a new tabletop miniature wargames company.

We have a SciFi rules set called '2107', in development now. As the name suggests, the game is set in the year 2107, and players will take on the role of the commander of a Private Military Company. We plan to have a trial version of the rules avaible as a download in the next few months.

In the meantime, we are releasing the first figures in the range.

They are 1/56th (28/32mm) scale figures, cast in white metal. They represent soldiers of a Private Military Company and their supporting robots. While they have been designed for use in the 2107 game, they will also fit in well with many other manufacturer's ranges.

Figures are sold as fireteams, for example a four man Tactical Fireteam with a Support Drone costs £14 plus p+p. We also do a Platoon deal, which costs £85 plus p+p, saving you £20, and also comes with a free bonus figure.

We have a full release schedule planned, with a lot more infantry and robots already being sculpted, as well as vehicles later in the year.

Visit the website to see what's available, and find out more about the 2107 game universe.

And some pics of some of the minis:

Cheers,
Michael Lovejoy

The minis are nice, but I'm not ordering at a place with neon green text on a black background.

I tried white text, but it hurts my eyes.... :(

On the other hand, if it'll get you to order, I'll change it!  :D

Great looking stuff!  And I really like the idea of the game.  Really like the helmets and armor of the troopers.... would be great to see some in 15mm too ;)

Well, a lighter background might be a good idea ;)

I've got more infantry on the go to fill some gaps - more guys with shotguns, and a couple more heavy weapons, but mostly it's more robots at the moment; I've got about 6 different designs on the go now!  :D

cheers,
Michael

Really great minis - probably the best hard sci-fi I have seen. The warbots in particular are making me drool. Unfortunately there is zero 28mm sci-fi gaming happening in my local area at the moment (its all WWII bolt action).

Will keep these in mind - be very interested in whether there is scope to use them as subs in Gates of Antares since that seems likely to be the next big thing in 28mm sci-fi.

Best of luck with this venture.

I like them not to GWish. Helmets are very nice.  Maybe as a deep strike team?
