"Battalions" of Mountain Men - rules?

Anyone ever come across rules for gaming Mountain Men? Years ago there was an article in Wargames Illustrated (Lance Kizer, I believe) that showed a game but I don't know if they listed rules used.

Appreciate your information - if you have any. Already know about adapting rules, just wondering if there are any specific rules. Thanks.
