What are peoples thoughts on an MDF style arena if it was available?

If it was well-executed and reasonably affordable I would be all over that.

I would possibly be interested dependent upon how it was executed.

A small fully enclosed arena IMHO is too hard to use easily - an open sided one is better.

Great paint on the minis.

I have slowly begun a little project of my own.  I'm going for a smaller more portable scale.  I'm going to use a large hatbox, tile the bottom and texture the side with some barred gates and windows.  Im basing my idea off this one:

Where did you get the hatbox from?

I got mine from Michaels on sale.  it's 12 inches across, although with the curve it will be closer to 11.  No epic battles for me.  It's made out of brown paper mâché.  it will be easy to cut and easy to paint.  A hexagon one would be perfect but I couldn't find any.  I was thinking about making one out of MDF but the carpentry seemed a bit daunting.

I have a Michaels, JoAnn and  Hobby Lobby all near, so I may have a new weekend quest. To get my arena! I don't want anything huge right yet for mega battles. Just small match games.

Well then we are in the same boat Styx,
This site creates a lot of anxiety- too many cool looking games to support!
Small skirmishes are the way to go.  My arena won't be finished for a while.

Bet you mine is longer, it sits on a long pile of unfinished projects....I just need to win the lottery and sit on my arse all day.

Sounds exactly like my plan :)

The hat box arena idea will be placed on my to-do list as well.
