Eureka Somalis ... new!
« on: January 21, 2013, 02:45:56 PM »
Here are some new Somali militia that I've been working on. There are guys firing wildly, advancing, as well as figures standing around looking mean. If you wanted a figure of a shirtless dude firing a Kalashnikov there is one such figure in the group.

These are 28mm, and there are more photos on my blog

Any ideas to bring out the guns for commercial use, ALA Hasslefree?

Neat stuff, particularly like the LMG with the belt hanging down.

e2a: Just realised how you're the great Kosta Heristanidis, so a BIG thanks for those great Afghans you did. I've got almost all of them bar the latest releases. Especially liked the heavy weapons. They're a joy to paint, and even more fun to use.

Do you think Nic might drag you to Salute this year so we might adore you in the flesh*?
It'd look like this, but without any women.  ;)

Nice. Funnily enough, I've converted a number of your existing ranges to something similar but these will fill them out wonderfully. I'm very pleased to see that these will fit generic use rather than a specific Somali scene.

Lovely work as ever Kosta. Now back to work on those Brits.  ;)

very nice. I welcome any figures that fill out the ranges for this period. there are some nice Somali figures on the market, along with some dog-rough ones, but yours are a very welcome addition. As the others said- the guy with the LMG is superb.

Lovely work as ever Kosta. Now back to work on those Brits, Portuguese and Africans with old rifles and stuff.  ;)

Fixed that for you...  ;)

Awesome looking figures though... Salute would be like Phil's photo...less women and hair though, but with added waistlines.  ;)

I was thinking along the same lines : substitute every 2 women with 1 man (occupying the space of said 2 women) and you're there.  lol

Thanks one and all for the comments, much appreciated on my end of things  :)

Yes Phil, I am he! I'm really happy that you're so into the Afghanis, I have made a big effort to keep the Afghan range growing over the years.
From Nic's impression of last year's Salute it certainly sounds like a frenzy.. but I've no plans to attend this year.

This is something that both Nic and I have discussed many times but at the moment it's a 'no'.
Each requires a great deal of time to produce, and that by the time I've researched and sculpted them I do guard the finished miniature weapon jealously.
